This is the best omakase in Brisbane. If you miss Japan, or have never been and want to try the true Japanese food this is the real deal. It wins on flavour, technique, visuals, variety and seasonality. It's astounding that the chef can create a completely new, high tier menu every season. This restaurant focuses on traditional flavours and ingredients. You'll see ingredients you've never seen before used in amazing ways. The sake collection is also out of this world. You cannot buy his selection without being extremely well connected. The atmosphere will be more reserved than you may be used to, but everything is done to maximise the enjoyment of each customer. This is something that is common in high end restaurants in Japan. This is my fourth visit in the past year and I am looking forward to my next meal here.

Absolutely outstanding. I've visited a few other Omakase restaurants in Brisbane, first time dining at Fumiki's and the winter menu with 18 courses has set a new benchmark. Every dish was a masterpiece, showcasing not only the finest seasonal ingredients but also Chef Fumi’s precision, creativity, and deep respect for the craft. We were celebrating my wife’s birthday, and the entire experience made the occasion truly special. The attention to detail was remarkable, from the delicate balance of flavours to the impeccable presentation. Each course flowed seamlessly into the next, creating a journey that was as much about storytelling as it was about taste. Chef Fumi’s professionalism, passion, and dedication to his art were truly inspiring. By far the best omakase I have had in Brisbane. Fumiki’s delivers an unforgettable dining experience that I will be talking about for a long time. I will definitely be returning to experience the other seasonal menus. Highly recommended for anyone who values exceptional Japanese cuisine.

Garfish and tuna sashimi here are extremely tasteful, you can taste the smooth texture and rich fat in between them, without a hint of fishiness. The steamed egg blended with the savory gravy was tasteful as well. The waitstaff are warm, attentive, and always considerate of customers' needs. This place is absolutely worth a visit.

This was my very first omakase experience, and it absolutely exceeded my expectations! Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavour, truly a culinary journey. The auction grade sea urchin was phenomenal! The chef was not only highly skilled and professional, but also friendly and engaging, taking the time to chat with us throughout the evening, which made the experience feel even more special. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the drinks were just as impressive as the food, the yuzu soda was beautiful. I would definitely visit this place again in the future. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for an authentic and memorable omakase experience!

Being a frequent visitor to Fumiki’s Sushi Kappo since their opening in 2023, we’ve been fortunate to have tried every seasons menu and we can honestly say, we have never once been disappointed. The chef brings a passion and dedication to the tradition of kaiseki cuisine which is evidenced in every artfully arranged dish presented. Even as a novice to Japanese haute cuisine, I certainly appreciate the chef’s meticulous care and detail, from the beautifully decorated garnishes to the stunning traditional, hand-made tableware. The food is not just decoration though. Every dish is perfectly balanced, with every ingredient seasonally inspired and creatively prepared, reflecting an extraordinary level of thought and craftsmanship. I love every dish I’ve tried so far. The ambiance is serene and intimate by design, to elevate your appreciation for the authentic and traditional meal. We paid $270pp, and while you will not find the ‘trendy’ items like wagyu, truffle or lobster on the menu, every dish is a culinary masterpiece. Personally, Fumiki’s rates higher than every other omakase I have tried so far. Our personal favourite. Highly recommended.

A fantastic omakase experience with a touch of kaiseki element. The dishes were beautifully presented using fresh, seasonal ingredients with great attention to detail. The flavours were well thought out, blending traditional techniques with subtle modern touches. The atmosphere was intimate, and chef Fumiki’s interaction added a nice personal touch. It’s a great spot for anyone looking to enjoy quality Japanese cuisine in a relaxed setting. Highly recommend for a special night out!

We had a wonderful omakase experience there. The meal was very authentic and everything was absolutely delicious. We also did the sake pairing — they have an excellent selection of sake that complemented the food perfectly. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but definitely worth it for the quality. Highly recommend!

Might have been the most expensive meal I’ve ever had ($700 for 2 people) but it was definitely worth it! We had the autumn omakase, deluxe set with extra extra uni. The ingredients were fresh and in season (lots of autumn elements, like pumpkin and chestnut). The chef put in a lot of effort into the combinations of textures, layers and pairing of flavours, as well as the plating, presentation and the general aesthetics of the restaurant (apparently the food, plates and decor change with the seasons). The chef was nice and yasashii, very knowledgeable, experienced, and you could tell he really cared about food.
